Bergamot:  Is considered uplifting, rejuvenating, and balancing.  Has antidepressant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, deodorizing and astringent properties. Is reported to help alleviate anxiety, depression, stress, fatigue and relieve skin irritations like eczema, psoriasis, acne, insect bites, wounds, ulcers and herpes.

Cedarwood (Atlas): Has antiseptic, antispasmodic, astringent and insecticidal properties. Used for acne, dandruff, eczema, greasy hair, insect repellents, oily skin and psoriasis.  Often used in men's fragrance blends.   Avoid during pregnancy.

Chamomile: Has antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiseptic, bactericidal and nerve sedative properties. It's skin care benefits include helping to relieve acne, allergies, boils, burns, cuts, dermatitis, eczema, inflammation, insect bites and rashes. It's aromatic benefits include it's ability to help to relieve headaches, insomnia, migraines, nervous tension and other stress related complaints.

Cinnamon Leaf: Has antiseptic, antibiotic, astringent and insecticidal properties. It works well in an insect repelling soap as well as a fragrance component in masculine products. Often used in air fresheners to kill odours and bacteria.  Avoid if you are pregnant.  May cause skin irritation in some people.

Clary Sage: Has antiseptic, antidepressant, anti-infectious, antispasmodic and aphrodisiac properties.  Is said to be good for acne, dandruff, depression, perspiration, hair loss, inflamed skin, migraines, nervous fatigue, oily skin and hair, menstrual related problems, promoting sleep, reducing wrinkles and varicose veins.  Should avoid during pregnancy

Clove Bud: Has antibiotic, anti-infectious, antiseptic, antifungal, antioxidant, antiviral, aphrodisiac and parasitic properties. Works well for acne, athlete’s foot, bruises, burns, cuts, infections, insect repellent, muscle pain, nausea and warts.  Avoid during pregnancy.

Fir Needle: may help with arthritis, bronchitis, colds, coughs, flu, muscle aches, rheumatism and sinusitis.  Very popular in men's fragrance blends.

Frankinsense: This oil is said to have astringent, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory qualities. Used quite often for dry and mature skin, wrinkles and scars.

Geranium: Thought to be helpful for eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and shingles.  Has astringent, antiseptic, antidepressant, antibiotic, antispasmodic, anti-infectious and insecticidal properties. Helps with acne, athlete’s foot, bruises, burns, depression, lice, nervous tension, PMS and wounds.   Good for both dry and oily skin types. Best to avoid during pregnancy.

Lavender: May help to relieve depression, insomnia, headaches, nervous tension, pain, PMS and to disinfect the scalp and skin.  Helps to relax and has a calming effect.  Said to kill germs and help acne, eczema and dandruff.  Soothing and healing for cuts and sun damaged skin.

Lemongrass: Works well for oily skin and is useful as a skin toner. Has astringent, anti-septic, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-depressant, antiviral, bactericidal and insecticidal properties. Helps with acne, athletes foot, perspiration & headaches

Lime: Has astringent, antiseptic, antiviral, bactericidal and deodorant properties.   Good for acne, arthritis, strengthening nails, colds, cuts, skin irritations, infections, oily skin and insect bites. Avoid during pregnancy

Litsea: is most valued for its calming and anti-inflammatory properties. Other therapeutic properties include being astringent, antiseptic, insecticide, hypotensive, stimulant and tonic.

Palmarosa: Has antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious, antiseptic, antiviral and emollient properties.  Good for acne, fungal infections, dermatitis, eczema, mature skin, restoring skin cells, regulating sebum production, scar tissue, minor skin infections and wrinkles.

Patchouli: It's properties include antibiotic, anti-depressant, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antimicrobial, antiseptic, antiviral, astringent, bactericidal and deodorizing properties. Can help with acne, anxiety, athlete’s foot, bacterial infections, cracked and chapped skin, dandruff, depression, dermatitis, dry skin, eczema, frigidity, fungal infections, insect repellent and bites, oily hair and skin, open pores, parasites, wrinkles, and wounds

Peppermint: Has anti-epressant, anti-eptic, astringent and insect repelling properties.  It is said to help with acne, dermatitis, eczema, headaches, insect bites, mental fatigue and migraines.    Avoid during pregnancy

Rosemary: Makes a great addition to shampoo bars as it cleans hair, especially oily hair, very well.  Also said to stimulate cell renewal and hair growth and reduce the appearance of varicose veins.  Great for dry and mature skin, wrinkles, acne, dandruff, eczema, headaches and as an effective insect repellent. 

Sweet Orange: helps to increase energy and boost mood, but also has a number of other health benefits. This powerful essential oil can fight acne, relieve inflammation, promote better digestion, and improve the appearance of skin.

Tea Tree: Has antibacterial, antibiotic, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antiparasitic, antiviral and antiseptic properties.   Can help with acne, athlete’s foot, blisters, burns, chicken pox, cold sores, dandruff, fungal infections, herpes, insect bites, oily skin, skin rashes, warts and wounds.

Ylang Ylang: Good for acne, insect bites, balancing combination skin, insomnia, depression and as a fixative for essential oil scent blends.   Avoid during pregnancy.
